Seattle Central College

Established in 1966, Seattle Central College the first two-year college in the city of Seattle, and the 19th in Washington state. The college filled a huge unmet need for affordable education and career training for the city’s residents, doing away with the need for them to travel to Everett, Bremerton, or other areas outside of Seattle. For over 50 years, Seattle Central has been educating the citizens of Seattle and the surrounding region with innovative programs and a high-quality curriculum, including college transfer, career training, continuing education, and basic studies. The college is an open-access learning institution and strives to prepare each student for success in life and work, fostering a diverse, engaged, and dynamic community.
