From application through graduation, Temple University offers personalized support to help students grow as individuals, global citizens and career-seekers ready to contribute to meaningful change.
Temple recognizes that moving overseas to study can be a big adjustment, so from day one the university provides students with support to make them feel at home. Temple also equips its students with a strong intellectual foundation by encouraging academic exploration and critical thinking. Some important resources for support include:
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) guides and supports students through legal documentation, counseling and visa and immigration issues.
International Student Affairs (ISA) helps international students acclimate, thrive and succeed. The office connects students to resources and assistance according to their needs, manages orientation and offers a wide range of cultural activities and workshops as well as mentoring, leadership and career development programs.
ISA celebrated its 4th #YouAreWelcomeHere Week for international students, packed with globally themed events that bring together international and domestic students, faculty and staff this year.
Temple University’s Career Center runs year-round events, which provide opportunities for networking community engagement, internships, career counseling and access to jobs.
To ensure student success, the university also offers academic support including advising just for international students, and a Student Success Center, which provides writing support and STEM tutoring.
In addition to ensuring that international students follow requirements, advisors help students explore a variety of options before students need to declare a major. Students can take courses that extend beyond their professional studies.
