The University of Pittsburgh offers a range of on and off campus housing for students, from residence halls to apartments.
Undergraduates starting in the fall term are guaranteed housing on-campus for three years, as long as they pay an enrolment fee by May 1st.
On campus, each room has basic cable television provided, along with an extra-long twin bed with mattress, desk, wardrobe/closet, chair and dresser. All housing also has access to laundry facilities.
The Resident Student Association is available for help and support, and ensures that students are enjoying their time in student housing. It also provides campus events, advocacy initiatives, and leadership opportunities throughout the year.
Athletics
The university offers a range of world-class sports and facilities to its students. This includes facilities for basketball, football, swimming, wrestling as well track and field activities.
There are also 14 fitness facilities on campus, ten of which are available to use 24-hours a day.
Academic facilities
The university offers a range of subject specific facilities.
The university has 28 libraries, with over 5.1 million volumes and collections across them. The largest of these libraries is the Hillman Library, which can seat 1,530 students. This library houses books and collections for several areas of study, including humanities and social sciences, psychology, computer science and maps.
The Health Sciences Library System contains several libraries which exist to support the research, patient care, and service activities of the schools of the health sciences as well as the hospitals at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Other facilities include:
- Vibrant Media Lab (electronics workstation, 3D printers, and vintage games consoles).
- Seven computing labs.
- 100 e-mail kiosks.
- Two bookstores: The Book Center and The Health Book Center.
- Dining services.
- Student-produced media (newspaper, radio and television).
- Research laboratories.
