In 2021, Ikon launched their Bachelor of Early Childhood Education course [CRICOS 102713G].

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is your pathway to an exciting career as an early childhood teacher with young children from birth to five years across a variety of settings and professional roles. Students will learn educational theory and contemporary teaching approaches to empower them to design and deliver curriculum that enhances each child’s learning dispositions and cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development skills.

The course is for anyone who has a genuine interest in understanding and enhancing children’s learning in a comprehensive and holistic manner. It is also suitable for those who have completed a related qualification and want to further their education to become an early childhood teacher.

There are three yearly intakes in February, May and August, and classes are delivered through face-to-face teaching at our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane campuses.

All qualifications are recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and are accredited through the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

Ikon accepts a wide variety of students and encourages applications from anyone with the desire to study one of their flagship courses. There is a range of admission pathways designed to suit prospective students from all circumstances and academic backgrounds. Admission pathways are categorised into four groups, with eligibility for each group described in the International Student Admissions Policy which is available to view online.

Prospective students are advised to choose the most relevant group in their application, and although entry requirements do vary on a course-by-course basis, the following criteria apply to all programs. International student applicants are required to:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the start of their course
  • Satisfy the admission criteria most relevant to their circumstances
  • Fulfil any course-specific admission criteria relevant to their chosen course
  • Demonstrate the English Language Proficiency requirements for their course of interest
  • Participate in an admissions interview

Each campus enjoys access to a bustling hub of student activity, located within central and well-connected areas within some of the most dynamic and student-friendly cities in the world.

Each campus offers a carefully curated schedule of learning facilities, services and social spaces to create a welcoming and focused learning environment in which its students may achieve their academic and personal goals. High speed wireless internet is standard across all campuses. Students also have access to individual and group study spaces and break-out rooms that can be booked in advance, as well as shared kitchen facilities and various other support services at each campus.

Fees & funding

Ikon course fees are typically charged per subject, which range between AUD 1,800 and AUD 2,000 per subject. A Fee Schedule is published on the website and can be accessed via fees and payment.

To celebrate the launch of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Ikon has established a new tuition-fee scholarship covering up to 50% of the course fees. The Early Childhood Education Foundation Scholarship offers financial support to students seeking an exciting career as an early childhood teacher.

The scholarship is available to all students who enrol and commence the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education in 2021. As such, all applicants to the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education will automatically be considered for a Foundation Scholarship. Applicants must first meet the course admission criteria and successfully complete the admission process to be eligible.

Scholarships will be granted in order of completed and accepted applications until the quota for this accept your Letter of Offer as soon as possible to secure your enrolment in the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education as soon as possible to receive the scholarship.
