Murdoch taught me that it is okay to ask for help

I chose to study at Murdoch because I am a people person and my degree allows me to meet a whole range of new people from different cultures and countries. I also had friends that had studied at Murdoch, so I had heard good things about the university and Perth. The diversity of people at Murdoch has led to some of my favourite moments at the university, such as making friends from different countries and meeting classmates from different professions and levels of experience. I really enjoy listening to my classmates having in-depth discussions in class, as it’s these discussions that help me to broaden my understanding of a range of subjects. I’ve found everyone in at Murdoch to be so friendly. I love the trees and nature around campus and some days I just go out and sit in the middle of the main courtyard, under the sun.
Often people from my culture are afraid to ask for help, as asking for help can be perceived as being incompetent and shameful. Murdoch taught me that it is okay to ask for help and the university really encourages its students to seek help if they’re struggling. show less
