QUT has been awarded USD 6.1 million in Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage and Discovery projects for 2020 and 2021.
QUT has been awarded AUD 1,200,955 for three ARC Linkage Projects and AUD 4,917,549 for 13 Discovery projects.
The Linkage Projects promote research partnerships between businesses, researchers, industry community organisations and publicly funded research agencies. The Discovery projects cover research in engineering, science, law and the creative industries.
John Monash Scholar
Jessie Hughes, a QUT alumnus, a design strategist and creative technologist, was named a 2020 John Monash Scholar.
She was awarded AUD 140,000 over two years towards her Master of Design at Harvard University or Master of Media, Arts and Science at MIT Media Lab in Cambridge. Her studies will explore advanced approaches to technology and society.
Hughes said, “My main focus is on the cross-intersection of design, technology, art and strategy for social innovation. I am aiming to lead the design of systems, media, and tools to improve the livelihood of Australians, and others, through creative innovation and emerging technology.”
