About Douglas

Douglas College, located in Vancouver, the ‘new tech hub’ of Canada, welcomes international students from nearly 85 countries to its safe, diverse, modern campus in the heart of Metro Vancouver. Programs at Douglas are uniquely designed to offer university standard higher education as well as applied learning necessary for success in the workplace. Qualifications offered in the College include bachelor degrees, associate degrees that can be transferred to university degrees, career-oriented diplomas and certificates, and post-degree/baccalaureate diplomas and certificates.

The Douglas Difference

There are many reasons for international students to make Douglas College their study destination. Some of these include:

Smaller class sizes: First year classes in universities can have 500 to 800 students. At Douglas, the same courses are taught in a class of 30 to 35 students. Small classes help students to engage in class discussion and develop meaningful connections with their instructors and classmates.

Practical learning: At Douglas, learning happens through practice. Students apply what they have learnt in the classroom to real-life situations and gain valuable practical skills necessary for workplace.

Strong return-on-investment: On an average, international students save approximately CAD15,000 by taking their first and second year at Douglas and then transferring into third year at a top Canadian university. Through university transfer programs, thousands of international students have successfully transferred to universities across Canada.

Vancouver Advantage: The Metro Vancouver location provides a wide range of career opportunities in industries ranging from tech, finance, social enterprise, the green economy, entertainment, and manufacturing.

Work while you study: Canadian immigration laws allow international students to work up to 20 hours a week during their studies. On graduation, students can apply for a work permit under the federal government’s Post-Graduation Work Permit Program and gain Canadian work experience before returning to their country.
