One of the largest public colleges in Ontario, Mohawk College offers a vibrant learning experience across four campuses in a beautiful Canadian location.
A diverse institution with over 13,000 students from 90 countries worldwide, the college offers over 150 specialized programs across certificates, diplomas, degrees, degree pathways, and apprenticeships. The college’s programs are focused on business, creative industries, community services, health, skilled trades and apprenticeship, technology, graduate studies, and preparatory studies.
As Canada’s seventh-best research college (Research Infosource 2023), all of Mohawk’s courses are fully accredited and funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. It is also a member of the Association of Community Colleges of Canada.
It is the first college in Ontario to receive a GOLD STARS rating for sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. This includes a dedicated sustainability team that offers 35 programs that promote sustainable lifestyles.
Blending work-based learning and classroom teaching with state-of-the-art facilities, programs help students transition into the workplace. With 33 co-op programs and a network of over 1,000 industry partners, Mohawk College proactively strategizes to enhance student employability.
Located a short distance away from Toronto, the college is based in the city of Hamilton on the stunning shores of Lake Ontario. Students are also conveniently connected to other iconic locations, with Niagara Falls and Toronto Pearson International Airport just 45 minutes away.
Within six months of graduating, 86 percent of Mohawk’s students have secured employment (Graduate KPI Outcomes Survey 2023), which is higher than the provincial average in Ontario, demonstrating their commitment to creating future-ready graduates.

At a minimum, international applicants will need to meet the following English language requirements for Mohawk programs:
If applicants don’t meet the English Language requirements, or want to improve their English language skills, they can enrol at Mohawk’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. This comprehensive program, consisting of three 14-week semesters, develops students’ knowledge from beginner to college-level English. At the higher levels students can earn 1 credit towards a diploma program.

All international applicants must be at least 17 years old once they begin their course. Applicants under the age of 18 will need to provide a notarized Custodianship Declaration as part of their application.
International applicants can apply for a range of financial assistance to help with the cost of their studies, including scholarships and bursaries. Between 2022 and 2023 the college awarded over CAD 3 million in funding to help its students achieve their academic and personal potential.
To be considered, students must be registered on a full-time course or co-op program and have no academic offences on their record.
Each semester, students can be considered for bursaries and scholarships offered by the college by submitting a financial assistance profile.
Mohawk College has been ranked seventh amongst Canada’s top research colleges (Research Infosource 2023). Recognized for its commitment to applied research and innovation, the college was also ranked high for its paid student researchers and industry research income.
The Centre for Aviation Technology at Hamilton International Airport brings together all aviation courses in one building, including engine labs, training aids, and new classrooms. It houses the only Boeing 737 maintenance training system in a Canadian college.
Located in a 75,000 square-foot airside hanger, the facility was created with KF Aerospace, one of Mohawk’s industry partners, and allows students to participate in hands-on learning alongside industry experts to gain real-world experience.
In leading the community toward reaching net-zero emissions in direct campus operations by 2035, the School of Climate Action and The Gina Fraser Chair in Skilled Trades for the Green Economy will launch in Fall 2025. To train the next generation of learners to support the emerging green economy, a new portfolio of climate action-focused diploma and degree programs will be offered for the Fall 2025 semester.

Creative Industries offers a range of creative courses, including music, journalism, photography, and public relations.
Students can choose from 16 programs that focus on the well-being of children, young people, families, and communities.
Mohawk College is a leader in health care programming. Many of the programs are operated through the Institute of Applied Health Sciences at McMaster, which is in partnership with McMaster University.
A range of specialized business programs are offered including accounting, financial services, and international business. Students gain practical experience and participate at networking events to build their professional network.
As one of the largest colleges in Ontario for apprenticeships, Mohawk College offers students the opportunity to gain job-ready training and in-school education in a range of skilled trades and apprenticeships, including construction, manufacturing, and the automotive sector. The Centre for Aviation Technology at Hamilton International Airport is home to classrooms, labs, and hangar spaces for the Aviation Technician programs.
Students are taught in the new The Joyce Centre for Partnership and Innovation’s advanced learning labs and smart classrooms, offering world-class programs in digital health, virtual reality, software development, and many more. The Centre for Aviation Technology at Hamilton includes classrooms, modern labs and almost 20 aircraft.
International students can enrol in five preparatory courses which allow advancement into higher levels of education, including diplomas, degrees, and graduate studies.
Students who have already completed a post-secondary education overseas or in Canada can apply to a graduate program. Most graduate programs are completed over one to two years across business, technology, health, and community services.
Mohawk College provides high-quality academic and social facilities across four campuses.
As the largest Mohawk campus, its modern academic resources include specialized labs, teaching therapy centres, smart classrooms, a library, and study spaces.
Social facilities include a 1,029-seater performing arts centre and an athletic and recreation centre. The centre provides three gyms, a fitness centre, a multi-purpose studio, indoor and outdoor tracks, volleyball and basketball courts as well as common areas.
The college also has the largest zero-carbon institutional building in Canada. The first of its kind in Hamilton, The Joyce Centre for Partnership and Innovation has seven stories of specialized labs, including ones that focus on renewable energy, digital health, cybersecurity, and metrology. Home to the college’s skilled trade courses and apprenticeship programs, students are taught using industry-leading equipment in a technological environment.
The Mohawk College Centre for Aviation Technology at Hamilton International Airport is a new aviation facility at the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. The facility allows the college to offer all aviation programs in a purpose-built facility. The centre spans three stories and consists of classrooms, modern labs, training aids, and almost 20 aircraft.
International students are supported by a dedicated team of staff and services available to them throughout their studies.
International students have a specific team who can support students with any issues. This includes visa and immigration advice, housing support, and required academic services.
With its easy-to-use Unibuddy app, Mohawk College International Peer Ambassador Platform allows students to make connections with current international students before arriving on campus. The Language and Culture Centre also hosts cultural events and social activities, offering opportunities for international students to celebrate together and meet their peers.
All new students are automatically enrolled in the college’s Future Ready orientation course. As a virtual learning platform that helps transition into college life, students can complete it at their own pace.
Mohawk’s Learning Support Centre provides a range of free academic support, including assistance with math, peer tutoring, workshops, and writing and communication support.
The college also hosts regular events, workshops, and activities where students can make friends, seek support, and enjoy college life. This includes a coffee club every Wednesday and Social Inc., an inclusive social space on all three campuses.
The Accessible Learning Services team ensures that students with disabilities have equal opportunities during their studies, suitable accommodation for their needs, and relevant support from the college’s other services.
The college has a variety of health and well-being support. This includes a range of free and confidential counselling from an expert team of registered professionals who can provide both personal and academic counselling services. If students are unsure of the type of counselling they require, the Connect to Wellness program explores options and helps to connect students to the right services.
