The Cybersecurity major will equip you with theoretical and technical knowledge and skillsets to become leaders in various cybersecurity job roles. Also, the major offers an opportunity for you to become politically and socially minded leaders in the cybersecurity space. Leveraging the University of Sydney's research strengths and leadership in cybersecurity, you will learn about state-of-the-art attack and defence techniques, assess networked systems' security, and apply cybersecurity strategies at the organizational level.In the major's capstone project, you will have the opportunity to apply the skills you acquired during the units to solve a real-world security problem.The Bachelor of Advanced Computing is designed with your computing career in mind. This accredited degree by the Australian Computer Society will develop practical and theoretical skills across the computing, information technology and business transformation industries. In Australia's most innovative computing course, you can combine your passion for computing with a shared pool of more than 100 cross-disciplinary majors as you cultivate specialist industry knowledge and computing expertise. As an advanced computing student, you will learn from leaders in the field. First year covers the core skills required to become a computing professional before you specialise in a major that aligns with your preferred career pathway: computer science, information systems, software development or computational data science.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Philosophy (Science), you must have completed the equivalent of one of the following in a subject area related to your proposed research area:bachelor's degree with a minimum overall credit average in the senior level unit(s) of study relevant to the proposed area of research or,master's degree or,University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Science with a final mark of 80.
