What will I learn?

Geography is the study of Earth’s landscapes, people, places and environments. The significance of geography lies in its contribution to an understanding of the total environment and the interrelationships that are apparent over various spatial scales. Geography students study how natural environments function and change over time. This study area provides an integrated understanding of humans, environments and the dynamic relationships between them. Geography in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) is particularly focused on physical geography, natural hazards, human impact and technologies to consider these including remote sensing and geographical information science. Geography courses include laboratory learning and fieldwork. We aim to equip graduates with skills to analyse and synthesise environmental, economic, social and political information to find solutions for our complex problems.

Entry criteria is based on scores required for entry into UNSW in 2024 and are only applicable if the Diploma has been completed. Students currently attempting the IB Diploma or Bilingual Diploma can apply directly to UNSW or through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
