What will I learn?

The Monash Bachelor of Art History and Curating lets you combine your passion for art history with hands-on curatorial skills to set you up for career success. You’ll learn about the history of art from foremost scholars and art writers, and acquire skills in the theory and practice of curating from leaders in the field. You’ll develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of historical and contemporary movements as well as different geographies and cultures in art history, and build on your knowledge of artworks and artists. You’ll learn about the origins of art and explore many different periods, such as the Italian Renaissance to Baroque, modern and contemporary Australian, Asian and international art, the history and theory of photography, film and video, Indigenous Australian creative practice and ways of knowing, and more. Throughout this study, you'll develop a broad base of knowledge that sets you up for a career in Australia or anywhere around the world.
