What will I learn?

History provides the foundations for interpreting the past and understanding how the past has been reconstructed and debated. As a discipline that intersects across the humanities and social sciences, History will enable you to develop skills in research, critical analysis and methodology, persuasive argument, and communication and written expression. At UniSQ you will explore evidence from the past and our contemporary times to investigate the origins of fundamental issues relevant to us today – race relations, slavery, revolutions, nationalism, women’s experience, culture and ethnicity, social movements, globalisation, politics, war and genocide, and historiography. With historical knowledge, experience and qualifications, UniSQ students have pursued professional careers in the public service, communities, museums, art galleries, heritage institutions, archives, libraries, media and publishing, as well as becoming research contractors and consultants, and teachers, and have taken up postgraduate studies.
