What will I learn?

Develop practical, real-world skills telling the fascinating stories that shape our lives and the future of our communities. You will design and produce multi-media packages for different news platforms, with the focus on preparing for a vibrant future in this fast-paced industry. Interview people, report the news, write feature stories, create and edit news packages, and design and produce packages for a range of digital and traditional platforms. Learn from lecturers with industry experience as journalists and continuing strong industry connections. Access news organisations for real opportunities to apply your knowledge. Third-year students are encouraged to undertake work placements as part of their studies.You will be equipped to work as a news reporter, specialist writer, columnist, commentator, copywriter, producer, editor, newsreader, and presenter. Journalism graduates are also employed as corporate communications officers, media engagement officers, digital communications producers and the like. Graduates gain employment across digital media and radio, television and print media throughout Australia and overseas.
