What will I learn?

Kick-start your business career with this skills-based Major. Completed over three years, the Bachelor of Arts with a Second Major in Business Studies introduces the basic building blocks such as taxation, accounting for business, business law and employment relations. For a more in-depth background in commerce, students consider taking a double degree in Arts and Commerce instead.

You can combine this Major with any of the first Majors available in the Bachelor of Arts. It provides an introduction to accounting for business, management, and human resource management. The structure of the Major allows you to complete three or four required courses and then choose courses that interest you including business law, taxation, employment relations, change management, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

This Major, when combined with a traditional Arts first major, will equip you with skills that will apply to many workplaces.

The transferable skills from this Major are sought after by many employers. Career opportunities include: marketing specialist, public relations advisor, customer service coordinator, client liaison coordinator, operations performance analyst, diversity and engagement project officer, events manager.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must meet High school qualifications (or equivalent) to apply for undergraduate program. Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country.

IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no individual band score lower than 6.0; CAE/CPE - 176 overall, with no individual band score lower than 169; PTE Academic - 58 overall, with no individual band score lower than 50; TOEFL (iBT) - 84 overall, with no score lower than 21 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.
