The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Holmesglen prepares you for a professional career teaching and supporting young children in early childhood education settings.Delivered at our Glen Waverley campus in Melbourne, this three-year degree combines academic study with practical learning, professional placements and industry-focused teaching. You will develop knowledge and skills in child development, learning through play, literacy and numeracy, inclusive education, health and wellbeing, curriculum planning, leadership and professional practice. Throughout the course, you will apply theory in practical settings and build the confidence to support children's learning, development and wellbeing. Holmesglen's purpose-built simulation and observation facilities provide additional opportunities to practise professional skills in learning environments designed to reflect real early childhood settings.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for entry into the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, international applicants must meet the following requirements: Age Requirement Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course. Successful completion of VCE Year 12, or overseas equivalent. Applicants can access information on whether their overseas qualification is equivalent to VCE Year 12 at Assessment of overseas qualification for VCE equivalence - Year 12 - Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Applicants may also be considered on the basis of: Completion of an Australian VET Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; or Partial or completed higher education study at a recognised university or non-university higher education provider. All applications are assessed on an individual basis in accordance with Holmesglen's admissions policies. Applicants who have completed the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care within the last 12 months at Holmesglen may be eligible to receive credit towards the first year of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, subject to Holmesglen's credit and recognition of prior learning policies.
