What will I learn?

Take your first step towards teaching or other education-related fields.

Gain the necessary knowledge to pursue a career in corporate training, educational consultancy, online learning, vocational and community education, curriculum writing, youth services or adult learning.

This degree is also a pathway for students who are passionate about becoming teachers but do not achieve the entry requirements. Students who successfully complete their first year of study (subject to meeting certain progression and non-academic requirements) may apply for transfer into the second year of the Bachelor of Education suite.

This course will not lead to early childhood, primary or secondary teacher registration in Australia, and no practicum is undertaken by graduates who complete the three year course.

High School Diploma with minimum total score of 1370 for SAT I Critical Reading, SAT I: Mathematical and SAT I: Writing test scores (2015 and earlier);High School Diploma with minimum total score of 1040 for SAT I Critical Reading, SAT I: Mathematical and SAT I: Writing test scores (2016 onwards). Applicants must have must have the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 Certificate. English Language Requirements: Overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with an individual score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; 5.5 in listening and reading); Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 with a minimum of 50 in writing and speaking and a minimum of 42 in reading and listening; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 60: minimum 21 in writing, 18 in speaking, 8 in reading and 7 in listening; ACU English Language Test: C (60-64%); Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE of 169 (Minimum score of 169 in writing and speaking and 162 in listening and reading).

For international students

International students undertaking an Australian Year 12 qualification.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall score: 6.5; Individual score of: 6.0 in all tests

Pearson Test of English (PTE): 58 with a minimum of 50 in all four communicative skills

Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 79: minimum 21 in writing, 18 in speaking, 13 in reading and 12 in listening

ACU English Language Test: B (65-74%)

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE of 176; Minimum individual score of 169 in all tests
