What will I learn?

Many companies want engineers that combine the skills of electrical and electronic engineers with those of mechanical engineers. This combined degree takes all the advantages from both degrees, both of them accredited at the professional level. The interplay between developing solutions in mechanical engineering and the need to understand electrical and electronic engineering is widespread. This degree provides the education to understand both sides. Electrical and electronic engineers are increasingly in high demand with the technology embedded in most facets of life ranging from electrical power systems and consumer goods through to the sophisticated instrumentation used in electronic circuits, electronic devices, telecommunications and computer systems while mechanical engineering is concerned with the design, construction and operation of machinery. Mechanical engineers are in great demand locally and internationally in a variety of industries.

Entry requirements

For international students

Flinders University recognises international secondary schooling for direct entry to undergraduate programs.

SACE stage two specialist mathematics or mathematical methods or equivalent. Knowledge of SACE stage two physics or equivalent is assumed.
