What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours and Bachelor of Science combined degree emphasises the strong scientific foundations of engineering. It will develop your engineering expertise alongside the critical insights and research methods offered by the sciences. In this program you can combine any of the engineering streams (Aeronautical, Biomedical, Chemical and Biomolecular, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Software and Space) with a Bachelor of Science. You will develop an extensive knowledge of your chosen engineering stream along with technical and research skills to lead innovation across continually evolving industries. As part of your engineering degree you will undertake the award-winning Professional Engagement Program enabling you to change your approach to learning through self-reflection and extra-curricular activities throughout your degree. Complementing your engineering studies, the Bachelor of Science emphasises fundamental principles and discovery research underpinned by critical thinking and analytical capabilities. You can major in one area of science, with elective units allowing you the flexibility to explore different branches and interests. We offer more than 50 study areas, taking you from the nanoscale to the cosmic, from biological to physical and chemical processes as well as preventing diseases in humans, animals and plants. You can complete this combined degree program in five years of full-time study, after which you will graduate with two qualifications. With a range of exciting career options across the commercial and government sectors, there are enormous opportunities to lead the next wave of innovation and development.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:

an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, or

an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in an unrelated discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification and relevant professional work experience (typically three years), or

an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline with less than a credit average (minimum 50 percent required) or equivalent qualification and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 630) or GMAT Focus Edition (for guidance, the class average score is 585) or equivalent Business School approved admissions test.
