What will I learn?

Gain a comprehensive knowledge of how to design a mechanical component, a whole machine, a mechanical system and a mechanical process. Learn how to analyse mechanical design using the principles of motion, energy and force to ensure the safety and reliability of products. This degree is designed to ensure our graduates are best positioned to engineer for the digital age. You’ll learn about all aspects of mechanical engineering, including power generation, transport, building services, machinery, manufacturing, computer-aided design and environmental studies.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, or

an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent, and five years relevant professional work experience, or

the relevant University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Engineering or Graduate Certificate in Engineering with a credit average (65 percent).
