About this course

What will I learn?

Understanding the changing nature of the climate allows us to prepare for the future and implement strategies to mitigate the impact of humans on biodiversity and the environment. In this major you will explore climate policy and climate change, develop skills in maths, statistics, programming and climate modelling as well as resource management. Gain hands-on skills from your first year with laboratory sessions, site visits, field work and industry placements. Graduates may find work as a climate scientist, climate policy consultant, a climatologist or climate policy analyst. Graduates may work for resources/mining industries, government departments and agencies, local councils, consultancy, national parks, universities, defence organisations, CSIRO, Australian Bureau of Meteorology and other organisations contributing to sustainable utilisation and management of our natural resources.
