From the integration of 2D and 3D virtual fashion and textile design and digital production methods, to material innovations, smart textiles, and the need for improved transparency. Technology innovations and improved environmental, social and ethical practices will fundamentally change how clothes are made, consumed and experienced. To support the development of sustainable solutions for the fashion industry, capabilities in technology and sustainability need to be developed and combined with traditional fashion systems knowledge.
The Bachelor of Fashion Sustainability provides you with the capability to work in diverse roles across the fashion and textiles sector with these principles in mind. You will gain practical, theoretical, and technical skills to create sustainable fashion and textile solutions, combining cutting-edge technology and sustainability expertise with traditional fashion systems knowledge.
In this cutting-edge degree, you will delve into sustainability as an underlying principle within the fashion and textiles industry. You will explore industry-relevant knowledge and projects, ethical and sustainable practices, and material and digital technologies. You will also have the opportunity to major in either textile and materials design, or fashion innovation and technology, and minor in fashion design, textile and materials design, fashion enterprise, materials innovation, digital fashion, digital communication, photography foundation, foundations in sustainability, development and social equity, or entrepreneurship.

You must have successfully completed a qualification recognised by RMIT as equivalent to the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) with a minimum average of 65% (see calculator below). Equivalent qualifications may also include completion of the RMIT Foundation Studies program or a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades. Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted.
