What will I learn?

Move beyond playing games and start engineering how they work. The Bachelor of Games Development (Games Programming) focuses on building the technical foundations behind gameplay: from logic and systems to performance, optimisation and real-time interaction. You’ll begin by developing strong programming and scripting skills, learning how to structure code, control game behaviour, and implement modular systems that support complex interactions. Through hands-on projects, you’ll turn ideas into functional gameplay by writing, testing and refining code that drives movement, input, events and player feedback. As your skills advance, you’ll dive into specialised areas of game programming including file systems, optimisation, mobile development, AI, and multiplayer networking. You’ll learn how to manage data, optimise memory and rendering, create believable AI behaviours, and design systems that connect players across devices and networks, all while maintaining performance and scalability.
