What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Information Technology at Victoria University Sydney is a three-year course with a personalised learning experience. We focus on areas with high job demand such as web/mobile app development and ICT management.Our learning facilities include the latest technology such as CISCO routers and switches, Amazon cloud servers and virtualisation (Hyper-V) infrastructure.All students undertake the same first-year subjects, followed by major studies (eight units) in years two and three. Choose from:Web and Mobile Application DevelopmentNetwork and System Computing.Students will also study 4 Graduating Core units, and undertake minor studies (four units) in one of the following:ICT ManagementSoftware DevelopmentNetwork Management.These are subject to the approval of the course coordinator and may be limited by prerequisite requirements and unit availability.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry into the Bachelor of Information Technology requires you to have completed:

  • TAFE: Completion of a cognate (similar discipline) Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent), will be granted advanced standing of a maximum 96 credit points (Diploma) or 144 credit points (Advanced Diploma).
  • Year 12: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in any other English; and a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.
  • International: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including at least one of the following subjects: Mathematics
  • OR
  • Completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent);
  • PLUS:
  • Mature: Applicants with relevant work, education and/or community experience will be considered for admission to the course.

Your eligibility will be assessed when we receive your completed application.
