What will I learn?

Develop the ability to understand, respect and work effectively across all types of cultures by studying Deakin’s Bachelor of International Studies (Global Scholar). Designed for high-achieving students, this course will equip you with foundation knowledge of the global political climate and the forces shaping government, business and society in Australia and throughout the world. You will develop a professional portfolio of international experiences to build a global career from the very start of your studies.Understand how events of the past have contributed to today’s environment and apply transversal and analytical skills to reflect on the past and tackle the future. You will learn what it takes to establish and maintain a professional presence as an international relations professional, as well as build a graduate portfolio that highlights the key learning outcomes you have acquired throughout your degree.

Current Year 12 students (2024)*

Year 12 graduates (2023 and 2022)*

To be considered for an undergraduate course, you need to meet Deakins entry and course-specific requirements, as well as the English language minimum prerequisites.

Non-Year 12 applicants with:

higher education study

Vocational Education and Training (VET) study

work and life experience Or

completed Year 12 in 2021 or earlier.

Completion of one of the following:

2 credit points in an AQF Level 7 bachelor degree

certificate IV or higher in a related discipline

a diploma or higher in any discipline

at least 50% completion of a diploma or higher in a related discipline relevant work and life experience.

English Language Requirements:
