The Spanish major provides students with the skills needed to develop an ability to understand, speak, read and write Spanish. Students are exposed to Spanish as used across the Spanish-speaking world, and a wide variety of sources are drawn on. In this way, different cultural expressions of the Spanish-speaking world are incorporated into the classes to enhance the language-learning experience. Students also have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and strengthen their language skills through specialist courses in Hispanic linguistics and Hispanic literatures.
