You’ll have the opportunity to tailor a degree to your specific interests. Specialise in cinema studies, communications and journalism, media studies, public relations & advertising, or screen production. The Bachelor of Media at UNSW is designed for you to explore your interests and build on your passions. You’ll choose a specialisation to pursue in depth, built on a strong foundation, and with the opportunity and flexibility to select what interests you most from across our specialisations.
Throughout your degree, you’ll examine the various aspects of media and the media industries through different lenses and approaches, such as media and cultural theory linguistic and semiotic theory the political economy of the media digital media ethnography public relations scholarship cinematic, screen and sound cultures and journalism and ethics.

This specialization will develop your skills in critical thinking, researching, planning, and presenting conceptual projects. You’ll understand the intersection between entertainment, politics, and aesthetics, with a critical exploration of political cinema, cult film, experimental and mainstream movies.
Hone your critical voice while developing skills in close and careful film analysis and deepen your understanding of the intersections between popular entertainment, politics, and aesthetics.
