Box Hill Institute has been a leader in Australian contemporary music education since 1981, offering one of the most diverse and dynamic music programs in the country. This music course is designed to support emerging music professionals across all areas of the industry to be creative, work collaboratively, think innovatively, create content, generate income, and forge their own pathway into industry. In the music production major you will learn creative skills for producing, DJing, composing, performing, mixing and releasing music you will collaborate with students in shared projects and industry experiences and you will create a portfolio of work to launch your career in the music industry. You will have access to: classes designed and taught by current industry experts, analog synthesisers, drum machines, and DJ equipment, world class recording studios, releasing music and artist development through our in-house record label, core units such as ‘Music Production Techniques’ and ‘Performing with Technology’, advancement units such as ‘Innovation in Music Creation’ and ‘Immersive and Interactive Audio’, elective units such as ‘Interactive Music and SFX for Games’ and You will also have the option of choosing subjects from any other major study areas including: audio production, composition, music business, performance and songwriting.
