What will I learn?

Physiology is the study of how the various tissues and organs of the body work to support life and grow. Undertaking a major in physiology will advance your understanding of how the body works, which is often of practical relevance in clinical medicine.With a major in physiology, you can become a professional in a vast range of health-related roles. These include clinical practitioner roles, biomedical research, health promotion and medical journalism. Physiologists work in fields as diverse as conservation and wildlife biology to cancer diagnostics. Your career development will depend on your personal strengths and interests.The Bachelor of Science (Advanced) is an undergraduate coursework degree that will develop your skills in analytical and critical thinking, providing you with the opportunity to join research fields and help make the world a better place. You will study core units to gain essential knowledge in fundamental sciences. You will then complete a stream, program or major from the Science disciplinary pool, along with a minor or second major from either the disciplinary pool or the shared pool. Additionally, you will complete units from the Open Learning Environment and any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course.
