What will I learn?

Our world is rapidly changing. Today, movements of people, environmental crises, flows of capital and new ideas shape our world and challenge who we are. These changes go beyond borders and require a considered and informed response. Studying international studies at UNSW will help you develop appropriate responses to these challenges. We challenge you to examine these complex developments and teach you to interpret what they mean for society. Combining social sciences, humanities and languages, international studies at UNSW prepares you for a global career. Using a multidisciplinary approach drawn from a variety of social science perspectives, you’ll analyse what's happening in the world and think creatively about how to solve these challenges. Our courses in policy and social research, geographic area studies and languages will help you help you examine local, national and global challenges. You'll develop knowledge and skills in public policy and foreign policy, international development, environmental issues, gender studies and history. To better work across cultures and borders our award-winning language programs assist you in developing intercultural communication skills in Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.
