What will I learn?

The aged care sector is growing in Australia and worldwide and there is demand for workers in a variety of roles within residential facilities, private homes and within the community.Develop the skills, knowledge and hands-on experience to work in both residential aged care and community-based facilities in jobs such as support worker and individual care worker, right through to team leader or support coordinator.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Students over the age of 20 may be eligible for adult entry.

English requirements:

  • IELTS 5.5 (no band score less than 5.0)
  • TOEFL iBT - 46
  • PTE Academic - 42 (minimum of 36 in each band)
  • Cambridge English test (C1 Advanced and B2 First) - 162

Students also require an expressed interest in working with older people in a residential setting. Applicants may be interviewed to demonstrate interest in complex client support, policies and procedures of residential aged care and supervision of other workers or a small team.
