This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to work effectively with individuals and groups in residential and community settings to identify their needs, and plan and develop appropriate services to meet those needs. You will learn about the community services sector including mental health, alcohol and other drug services, and domestic violence services. You will acquire skills in communication, working effectively and appropriately with individuals and groups in a variety of settings, gathering, maintaining and providing information, advocacy and community development processes, ethical behaviour and the legal responsibilities of community workers. As part of this course you will undertake work experience to build your skills and knowledge of community services. If you wish to further your career opportunities, you can enrol into the CHC42021 Certificate IV in Community Services.

An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.
Completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 10.
