What will I learn?

If you are creative and technical minded, and love architecture, you will enjoy this qualification. Learn how to produce drawings and documentation to support building designers and architects undertaking residential building design projects. You will develop skills to present and document building projects using both manual and computer-aided drafting (CAD) techniques that are relevant to current industry trends and practices. During your studies you will gain a broad range of specialist knowledge covering the range of materials and construction systems typically used in the local residential building industry. The course structure is based on construction and drafting skills to National Building Codes, Australian Standards and Local Planning Regulations, so you should consider if these regulations are applicable in your own country. This qualification has been designed in consultation with local industry groups such as architects, building designers and builders, to ensure that you graduate with the drafting skills required.
