What will I learn?

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service and repair industry. Those undertaking the AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology are required to have completed AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. Further training pathways from this qualification may lead to further automotive qualifications at tertiary level.

Entry requirements

For international students

Those undertaking the Diploma of Automotive Technology must have completed an automotive Certificate IV qualification in one of the following disciplines, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency: AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis and

AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling. Age of 18 years or above, Have physical attributes suitable for working in the automotive industry that encompasses manual handling of equipment including lifting and carrying heavy objects within scope of safe working practices (i.e. removing and fitting engine electrical components and parts).
