The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is one of the top 100 universities in the world (QS 2025), making it an excellent choice for any students who wish to boost their career prospects and learn in a vibrant and dynamic environment.
Degrees at UTS include fieldwork, case studies and other hands-on experiences. Subjects are built with industry to equip students with relevant skills. And research programs connect students with the leading minds of their field.
As an advanced research university, students can expect to learn from experts who offer a wealth of experience in their respective industries. The university provides facilities to match, with spaces designed to mimic real working environments available to students across all faculties.
UTS is in the heart of Sydney, the 6th best student city in the world (QS 2025). Here, students move between study, work and leisure with ease. UTS is next to Central Station, so students can hop on a train or bus to get around the city and enjoy everything that Sydney has to offer.

UTS is tapping into water sourced from the Flow Systems wastewater recycling plant, located across the road from the UTS Broadway campus at the vibrant Central Park development.
To connect the Flow Systems plant to the basement of UTS Central, horizontal drills burrowed a path under the road to make way for pipes. With the tap officially turned on, recycled water will now flow to the UTS campus to be used for landscaping, toilet flushing and in cooling towers.
It’s expected that the partnership will reduce UTS’s potable water use by around 40,000 kilolitres – or sixteen Olympic swimming pools – each year.
UTS is innovating urban power generation with a unique 25-year licence to operate a 1.1-megawatt urban solar farm at the UTS Tech Lab and the surrounding business park.
More than 3,500 solar panels will generate 1,430,000 kWh of clean energy each year, which is around three percent of the university’s energy needs and enough to power nearly 300 Australian homes.
UTS can use generated energy on-site to fully power Tech Lab operations, with additional generation offset against power use at the Broadway campus.
There are two different requirements that students applying to UTS need to meet: English language (as all courses at UTS are taught in English), and academic requirements.
International students who have not studied in English or who are from a country where English is not the primary language need to show their proficiency by doing an English-language test or program recognised by UTS. Details on English-language requirements can be found on the UTS website.
For entry into undergraduate courses at UTS, students need a competitive pass in a recognised matriculation exam, equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification.
For entry into undergraduate honours courses and most postgraduate courses, students must hold a recognised bachelor's degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree.
Equivalent qualifications differ between countries. Full details on academic requirements can be found on the UTS website.
UTS provides international students with one of the most generous scholarship programs in the country. Details on scholarships can be found on the official website.
UTS began as a technical college that taught practical skills to working people. Now, UTS is a leading technology university that’s kept a focus on real-world learning.
Subjects are shaped by industry advisory boards who keep course content relevant. Many degrees are accredited by professional associations that are recognised locally and abroad.
Through global experiences, UTS aims to develop global citizens who can take on global challenges. UTS has over 240 partner universities in 40 countries. Partners host study programs as well as experiences like conservation projects and startup bootcamps.
The UTS Business School is accredited by AACSB, and UTS is one of the top eight universities for Business and Management Studies in Australia (QS 2025).
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is for future writers, researchers, teachers and digital artists. The faculty advances social justice through teaching, research and engagement.
The Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building tackles the pressing issues of our time by combining design expertise with other fields like technology and planning. UTS is ranked 2nd in Australia for Art and Design (QS 2025).
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology is for the problem-solvers of the future. Students can access high-tech facilities including the 360-degree Data Arena or Australia’s most advanced 3D printing workshop. UTS is the #1 university for computer science and engineering in Australia (ShanghaiRanking).
Through the UTS Faculty of Health, students practise patient care in simulation labs that mimic the real world. The UTS Faculty of Health ranks 24th in the world for nursing (QS 2025).
At the Graduate School of Health, students can study pharmacy, orthoptics and other specialist disciplines, all housed in UTS’s newest building.
At the Faculty of Law, students can take on the unique Legal Futures and Technology major to learn how new technologies are changing the field. UTS is home to one of the top eight law faculties in Australia (QS 2025).
At the Faculty of Science, students learn how to affect change through relevant, innovative and practical inquiry. The faculty has some of the best facilities in Australia after an AUD 110 million investment in labs and equipment.
The TD School is where students future-proof their careers. The Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII) is a world-first degree where students create solutions from diverse viewpoints with real clients.
Over the past decade, UTS has transformed its campus. Through the construction of sustainable buildings like the UTS Business School – designed by Frank Gehry – the campus has become iconic in Sydney. Students benefit from interconnected learning spaces that encourage collaboration and research innovation between different faculties.
Students can enjoy the university’s Alumni Green or join one of 180 different clubs and societies at UTS, where they can connect with liked-minded individuals and meet new friends through dance, design, dogs or whatever else interests them. The university campus is also home to countless dining options, allowing students to enjoy all kinds of cuisine in and around UTS.
UTS is located in Sydney’s newest innovation precinct: Tech Central. Tech Central is the home of Australia’s technology economy, integrating industry, research and education – all on the doorstep of UTS. Within this innovation ecosystem, students can become entrepreneurs with UTS Startups – the largest startup community in Australia – and join a vast network of bright minds and big solutions.
Students can step onto campus and experience UTS in this 360-degree virtual tour.
