What will I learn?

Freshwater ecosystems are under increasing pressure worldwide – and fish populations are among the most affected. The Graduate Certificate in Fish Conservation and Management at Charles Sturt University equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to address these challenges head-on.

This program is designed for professionals across engineering, water resource management, aquatic ecology, and environmental planning and decision makers who want to make a real difference. You’ll gain expertise in fish ecology, river restoration, and fisheries management, learning how to design solutions that sustain biodiversity and support communities that depend on healthy waterways.

Developed in close collaboration with industry partners and the Gulbali Institute, this course reflects the latest research and global best practices in fish passage engineering and conservation. You’ll graduate ready to lead projects that restore rivers, protect fish habitats, and shape sustainable water systems for the future.
