What will I learn?

Study a range of approaches to managing individual student behaviour needs including evaluating individual behaviour plans, dealing with comorbid behaviours, and addressing academic and social needs. Explore how to implement a behaviour change program.Through the Graduate Certificate in Special and Inclusive Support, you’ll develop a greater understanding of current research on developmental disabilities with the goal of increasing your awareness of the causes and characteristics of a variety of disabilities, together with current approaches to service provision.The Graduate Certificate focuses on collaboration, consultation, negotiation, and interdisciplinary teams related to children and young people with disabilities, their families and allied health practitioners, while examining policy development and application, curriculum and personalised learning.It will prepare you to successfully meet the needs of children and young people with disabilities in education settings.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Special and Inclusive Support (40 units) will be available for applicants who have:4 year Bachelors Degree; or3 year Bachelors Degree; orAdvanced Diploma or Diploma in a related field/discipline and 2 years relevant work experience; orAdvanced Diploma or Diploma not in a related field/discipline and 3 years relevant work experience; orAt least 5 years relevant work experience in a related field/discipline.Related fields/discipline areas are:Teaching, Early Childhood educatorOccupational therapy, Speech therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social workMental health care worker, Disability support worker, Community care worker, Art and Music therapy
