The one-year Graduate Diploma in Agriculture and Environment is the perfect next step for graduates already trained by a degree in Science, Economics or related work experience (accreditation subject to approval). Within this articulated degree you will complete a research project where you will be innovatively addressing modern-day problems, while also honing your skills in project management, communication and cross-disciplinary thinking. You can choose from a range of specialist streams depending on where your interests lie. In 2015, our IA Watson International Grains Research Centre became the largest regional grains research centre in the country.Scientists use technological advances in Agricultural and Environmental Technologies to improve the health, productivity and sustainability of agricultural and terrestrial managed ecosystems. You will develop your knowledge in the areas of crop breeding and genetic modification, improved grain and fibre-crop physiology and agronomy, and the implementation of precision agriculture approaches for improved management. Through this specialisation you will develop a qualitative and quantitative understanding of key biophysical and ecological relationships, and the productivity of managed and unmanaged terrestrial ecosystems.
