What will I learn?

The Finance specialisation within the Master of Commerce and Master of Commerce (Extension) prepares students for careers in asset management, investment banking, risk management, corporate strategy and regulation. The specialisation covers critical concepts in corporate finance and investments within its core units.The Finance specialisation’s electives allow students to shape their advanced learning around existing experience and build deep knowledge and technical skills in key fields of industry. These include corporate valuation, derivative securities, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio theory, asset pricing and banking. Ethical and social considerations are discussed throughout the specialisation.Learning is supported through interactive tutorials and current content.

To qualify for admission to the Honours year a candidate must have:qualified for the award of, or been awarded, the pass degree in Bachelor of Health Sciences, the University of Sydney; ORqualified for an award or been awarded an equivalent degree from within the University of Sydney; ORqualified for an award or been awarded an equivalent degree from another university; ANDa Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65.
