What will I learn?

Our Engineering specialisation is designed to address the multifaceted and complex nature of engineering.For instance, modern day civil infrastructure is growing more interconnected, our roads are reliant on our power systems which are dependent on data networks.Extreme weather events demonstrate the vulnerability of Australia's transport systems to cascading failure, which often originate in a supporting network like electricity supply or communication. Gain the expertise to model, analyse and design resilient technological, socioeconomic and socioecological systems, as well as develop strategies for crisis forecasting and management.Our Master of Complex Systems is the only degree of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and is ideal for graduates wanting to develop skills in quantitative modelling and computational simulation of system dynamics.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:a pass in bachelor's degree with a credit average (65 percent) in a quantitative discipline; oran honours bachelors degree, from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent; ora University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Complex Systems with a credit average (65 percent), or equivalent qualification.
