What will I learn?

The Master of Construction Project Management at UNSW is a 1.7, or 1 year accelerated postgraduate degree that will prepare you for career advancement that drives solutions to current and future challenges in the construction industry. Through advanced disciplinary courses and a research project, you’ll dive into modern management methodologies. You’ll apply them to achieve successful project outcomes across time, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability, preparing to manage projects that benefit people and the planet. Practical experience is at the core of this degree. You’ll learn alongside a community of students and experts in architecture, design, and planning -mirroring real industry relationships with stakeholders. In your final term, you’ll complete a research-based or professional project, or undertake professional experience, giving you the portfolio, research experience, confidence and connections to advance your career.

Entry requirements

For international students

There are two different entry pathways to the Master of Construction Project Management. The program you apply for will depend on whether youre eligible for undertake the accelerated program or not. This is based on the depth of your prior experience, and how closely it relates to construction project management.

1.7 year full-time program 72 Units of Credit (UOC)

A bachelor degree with a credit average in a related field, OR

An bachelor degree in any field with a credit average plus two years construction industry experience at a managerial level, OR

A Graduate Certificate in Construction (or construction related fields) from an Australian institution with a credit average (equivalent to a UNSW WAM of 65)

1 year full-time program 48 Units of Credit (UOC)

An undergraduate honours degree with a credit average in a related field, OR

An undergraduate honours with a credit average in an unrelated field honours plus 2 years construction industry experience at a managerial level, OR

A masters degree with a credit average in a related* field

If you meet the criteria for the 1 year program, youll receive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) credit points for three subjects (24 UOC). 

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
