What will I learn?

The specialisation permits the study of core areas of international law, while also offering a variety of specialisations in both public and private international law. Study is informed by the Sydney Centre for International Law (SCIL), a leading centre of research, teaching and practice in international law in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. SCIL promotes public debate on international legal issues, advises governments and non-government organisations, and in recent years has worked in development programs in Nepal, Iraq and the Philippines. The Centre hosts a series of free public seminars on cutting edge issues of international law. Study includes international law in relation to: business, commercial arbitration, the environment, human rights, the use of armed force, refugees, immigration and nationality, tax treaties, international taxation, and electives focusing on Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian law.The Master of Public Policy is a postgraduate coursework degree that will further develop your understanding of policy design and implementation, while providing insights into the opportunities and constraints stemming from political, social, economic, civil and technological factors.You will complete core units covering migration, corruption, crises management, governance and environment, and you will complete a capstone unit comprising either a research project or dissertation. You will also complete elective units as needed to meet the requirements of your course.

Admission to candidature for the Master of Public Policy requires:A bachelors degree with a minimum credit (65 percent) average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification
