What will I learn?

Gain critical perspectives on the global, national and local levels of a rapidly changing policy environment with growing public scrutiny and complex challenges through the Master of Public Policy.This degree is designed for people who work in (or are looking to work in) government and the public sector, and for those working in non-government or private sector bodies who seek a better understanding of the role of government in public policymaking.The Master of Public Policy is a postgraduate coursework degree that will further develop your understanding of policy design and implementation, while providing insights into the opportunities and constraints stemming from political, social, economic, civil and technological factors.You will complete core units covering migration, corruption, crises management, governance and environment, and you will complete a capstone unit comprising either a research project or dissertation. You will also complete elective units as needed to meet the requirements of your course.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission to the Master of Economics (2 years full-time) requires:

a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification; or

completion of the requirements for the embedded Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Economics with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.

Admission to the Master of Economics (1.5 years full-time) requires:

a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, with a major in Economics and with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification; or

relevant professional experience and a bachelor's degree with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.

Admission to the Master of Economics (1 year full-time) requires:

an Honours degree in Economics.
