What will I learn?

The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Master of Religious Education will expand your career choices and give you an in-depth knowledge of Catholic theology while further developing your religious skills and qualifications. With flexible study options, this one-year postgraduate degree could be your career boost. Flexible, well-structured and contemporary in its focus, this Master of Religious Education program appeals to experienced teachers who wish to gain a solid theological and educational grounding to become religious educators and school leaders. The degree, which consists of eight courses, can be completed in one year of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time study. Classes are available in a mix of modes: Intensive (during school holidays), Semi-intensive (four Saturdays over a semester) and online. The study can be done entirely in external/online mode if this is more suitable. The Master of Religious Education is designed to provide you with the maximum flexibility to choose subjects that interest you. In addition to the four core Religious Education and Theology courses, you are free to choose four electives from these disciplines.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Religious Education applicants must also meet the following specific requirements: Be eligible for teacher registration in Australia; and either Successfully complete the University of Notre Dame Australia Graduate Certificate of Religious Education or equivalent; or Have at least two years of full-time professional experience in either a primary or secondary school setting.
