What will I learn?

Designed in response to industry demand, this major equips students with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of industry-standard analytical instrumentation, as well as an understanding of how to develop and validate their methods in line with international accreditation standards. They can upskill in analytical techniques and their application in diverse fields such as environmental, forensic and medical sciences, among others, and engage with research projects that solve industry-relevant problems.Graduates emerge with advanced skills in analytical instrumentation, method development and validation for quantitative analysis, ready for senior roles in a vast range of sectors and roles in which analytical chemistry expertise is highly valued. These include environmental testing, food and agriculture, the resource sector, forensic drug analysis and clinical diagnostics.
