What will I learn?

The program introduces you to contemporary planning theories and debates while instilling expertise in urban design, planning, and policy. You will develop broad knowledge of urbanism and deep specialisation in urban design to offer your expertise bridge the concerns of architecture and planning.This program is open to a broad range of applicants who wish to develop an interdisciplinary approach to urbanism, with specialist skills in urban design, that can be applied across roles in development, policymaking, and design of the built environment.You will engage in an integrative set of core units, introducing key concepts that reach across a diverse range of factors affecting the planning, policy-making, and urbanisation of our future cities.The Urban Design stream within the Master of Urbanism will allow you to participate in the core Urban Design studio unit. It is designed to develop your leadership and expertise in urban design and urbanism with a strong emphasis on sustainability, quantification, and implementation.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Philosophy (Science), you must have completed the equivalent of one of the following in a subject area related to your proposed research area:

bachelor's degree with a minimum overall credit average in the senior level unit(s) of study relevant to the proposed area of research or,

master's degree or,

University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Science with a final mark of 80.
