What will I learn?

The Monash Advanced Preparation Program (MAPP) offers a direct, accelerated pathway into your preferred Monash University undergraduate degree. Designed for successful Year 12 graduates (or other approved qualifications) who narrowly miss direct undergraduate entry, this intensive 16-week program builds your academic readiness through targeted learning and personalised support. Delivered face-to-face in a supportive learning environment, the program is designed to give you the best possible start to your Monash journey. Through the Monash Advanced Preparation Program, you’ll deepen your knowledge in key subject areas and develop essential university skills, including how to: Communicate effectively in English, Think critically and solve problems, Learn independently and collaboratively, Manage time responsibly and effectively. You will complete four units: One compulsory unit in Introduction to Academic Communication, and Three units aligned with your undergraduate destination degree, selected from your chosen stream. Learning is delivered through a mix of engaging tutorials, independent and collaborative learning, and real-world, competency-based assessments embedded throughout the semester.

Entry requirements

For international students

To enrol in Monash Advanced Preparation Program, you must meet the following minimum age requirements: Be at least 16 years and 7 months of age at the time of enrolment in the Monash Advanced Preparation Program. Be at least 17 years of age at the time of enrolment in your Monash University undergraduate destination degree. Meet any specific age requirements for degrees that include clinical placements. If you do not meet the minimum age requirements at the time of enrolment, you may be offered a deferred place until you become eligible. Please ensure you review the minimum age requirements of your chosen Monash University undergraduate destination degree, particularly those with mandatory requirements for clinical placements.
