What will I learn?

Workers with this qualification have tradesperson-level skills in the installation of products, including furniture and cabinetry, made from timber and other materials. They have core skills in tool use, measuring, drawing (including computer-aided design), interpreting work documentation, preparing cutting lists, communication, teamwork, and safe and environmentally sustainable work practices. Work is in a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader activities involving established routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures. Individuals collaborate with others to achieve quality outcomes and take responsibility for their own work. On successful completion of this course students are awarded MSF30322 Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology.

Entry requirements

For international students

Be at least 18 years of age.

Meet the following education requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; or

a Certificate III qualification or equivalent or above.

Meet the following English requirements:

Have an IELTS academic score of 6.0 or equivalent (test must have been taken be no more than 12 months ago).

NOTE: English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:

Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or

Successful completion of at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course or above in an Australian education institution; or

Successful completion of an Oxford English language placement test with an overall score of not less than Level B2 (Upper Intermediate).

Trinity Institute (Australia) also conducts an entry interview with all prospective students to confirm their details and ensure that the course selected is the most appropriate for their needs.
