What will I learn?

The Sport and Recreation Management program prepares students to work in the exciting and interactive business of sport management, sport marketing and recreation-related industries. Courses of study cover sport and recreation management and marketing sport economics recreation programming legal aspects of sport sport governance project management community sport and recreation supervision. Students will participate in a variety of relevant, practical learning experiences which will culminate in the final semesters of the program with work placement. Students will experience, first hand, what it is like to be involved in the world of sport and recreation management.Program HighlightsGraduates will have the relevant skills and knowledge suitable for positions within a wide range of sport management and supervisory activities.Courses of study include sport event planning, sales and marketing, facility management, and business administrative positions within professional sport.Understand the interaction between sport governing bodies, public agencies, and other regulatory bodies involved in the business of sport management.Career OpportunitiesSport and Recreation Management Graduates will find career opportunities in the public, private and commercial sports and recreation industry sectors. These positions include amateur and professional sports, community sport and sport and recreation facilities management, college and university athletics and recreation departments as well as sporting goods and event management.
