What will I learn?

Historical study explores the past to explain the present and illuminates the present through the past.Our History program provides students with opportunities to discover, understand and assess past times and changes over time. Students will develop strong writing and critical analysis skills.Historical study explains the past to the present and illuminates the present through the past. The History curriculum offers students opportunities to discover, understand, and assess past time and change over time. Historical study develops strong writing skills and critical analysis. As well, it provides training in skills of intellectual enquiry and judgment to prepare for students future lives. In addition, the curriculum prepares graduates who will become professional historians.

Entry requirements

The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Bachelor of Arts in History program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
