Delve into a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and study subjects like civil liberties, distributive justice and the ways in which individuals and groups compete and cooperate to achieve their goals. Students will examine the interactions between the individual, the state, government, public affairs and public policy, particularly in the quest for political power. Political science seeks to understand what happens when individuals and groups struggle with one another to achieve their different goals. Governments oversee and guide this political struggle, and studying politics helps us better understand why different types of governments behave the way they do. A background in political studies enhances ones competence and skills for political participation. Greater awareness of the political process leads to a stronger sense of personal involvement and a greater willingness to accept the responsibilities of democratic citizenship.
